Final Fantasy 7 Remake Will Be “Multi-Part Series”

One part for each disc? Episodic? Square Enix hasn't said.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Square Enix surprised us by showcasing gameplay footage for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake at the PlayStation Experience this Saturday. Considering the snail’s pace the company has been working at for Final Fantasy 15 and Kingdom Hearts 3, it was quite the pleasant happening.

However, the publisher recently stated in a press release that the remake will “be told across a multi-part series, with each entry providing its own unique experience.”

Understandably, people are already up in arms over this but Square Enix hasn’t really clarified what kind of approach it will take. Given that the original game shipped on three discs, perhaps each part will comprise of one disc and released over a period of time? Maybe it will be episodic like Life is Strange or any Telltale game?

Even if this approach allows Square Enix to get the game out faster, there’s no denying that receiving the full package at once would have been better. What are your thoughts on the Final Fantasy 7 Remake being a multi-part series? Let us know in the comments.
