The Elder Scrolls 6 or Skyrim 2: Bethesda Should Consider Removing Encumbrance

"You Are Over-encumbered."

Bethesda has not yet to announce they are actually making Skyrim 2 or Elder Scrolls 6 but it seems as though it will be coming sooner or later. That’s why we’ve been working hard to guess and suggest what the game might eventually have. Bethesda has talked about why they won’t ever put out a “small” game when it comes these kinds of titles.

One way the game could be made a bit better is if Bethesda thought about removing the encumbrance. For those who don’t know what this means when it comes to Skyrim or Elder Scrolls, this is a kind of limit that is put in place that only allows players to carry a certain number of items. To some degree, this kind of feature makes the game more realistic when it comes to telling the tale of a single adventurer wandering through the world. After all, it seems odd that someone could carry hundreds of pounds of items and still be able to carry out any kind of fight.

Take the example of Fallout 4. The game puts major emphasis on collecting scrap and using them to build shelter and all kinds of items. But the encumbrance puts a restriction in fully enjoying this feature. A game where collecting scrap is an important gameplay feature and then limiting its scope by introducing encumbrance is contradicting. Hopefully Bethesda will do away with encumbrance in its next game.
