The VR headset Oculus Rift will cost you a whopping $599 if you plan to buy one this April. The headset will ship with a sensor, a remote and an Xbox One controller. It’s expected that early adopters will be pre-ordering as soon as they can but the same cannot be said for everyone.
Several people from the games industry have reacted to the price point of Oculus Rift. You can check them out below. Personally speaking, this isn’t a good price point for the tech. The headset will probably fly off the shelves on launch but most people will wait for a price drop. I mean the tech is almost double the price of the PS4 and requires a fairly decent PC configuration to run games.
But what are your thoughts on the price tag? Let us know in the comments section below and stay tuned for more information on Oculus Rift.

$850 CAD for the Oculus Rift? Sorry, no thanks.

Melvin Kwan, Junior code designer at Artcode Interactive:
@RaphLife And that might be the best price for a while cause supposedly the dollar is going to drop more this year.

@RaphLife That is insanity!

Robert Boyd, Zeboyd Games:
Oculus Rift is $599, requires a powerful PC, and will make some people motion sick. 3DOculus Rift seems like a more fitting name.

@hooks06 Problem is if a platform doesn't reach mainstream success, it's hard for developers to justify making games for it.

Rami Ismail:
The Oculus Rift is $600, but you can look at a realistic stack of dollars in VR to feel better after buying it.

Margaret Krohn, NCSoft:
I'm not surprised by the $600 price tag for the @Oculus #Rift, but I'll be waiting a bit before I purchase it. pic.twitter.com/EQhBAKbPvd
