Microsoft is going to try and capitalize on what has been a pretty good end of 2015 with an event better start to 2016 by showing off what it plans for this year at a special event in February. The company is going to unveiling its complete lineup for the rest of the year, while also showing some new things surrounding its operating system, Windows 10.

Winbeta reports the company sent out an email announcing the event, which will take place on February 25 in San Francisco. This event shouldn’t come as a huge surprise to those who have been paying attention to the latest iteration of the console wars. Microsoft has long had admiration for the way Sony carries out its PlayStation Experience, likely mostly because Sony doesn’t have to share the stage with anyone else.

While the two companies are among the biggest attractions at events like E3, they are still having to share press time with other companies as the event continues. Sony has managed to grab headlines the last few years by holding the PSX in December. Microsoft’s Phil Spencer has even gone on record as saying he likes what Sony does with the PlayStation Experience and he said he wanted to see the Xbox One have more exclusive events. Whether or not this planned event is something that is going to be an annual thing isn’t yet known. We also don’t know exactly what we’re going to see. We’ll find all of this out when Microsoft unveils its plan on February 25.
