Late last week, Sony announced that it was going to be putting together yet another Playstation Experience this year. This year it will be taking place in San Francisco on December 5th & 6th and if last year’s event is any indication, it will include at least a couple of big announcements. Sony fans were huge fans of the PSX last year and it appears that Microsoft execs were also impressed by what was done. Phil Spencer, in particular is a fan of the way Sony is handling their business when it comes to the Playstation Experience.

The Xbox One chief took to Twitter in order to talk about what Sony is doing and that fact that he was a fan of the XO Events. Spencer made it clear that he would like to have more, perhaps as a kind of way to compete with the PSX. The XO events have apparently not gone away for the most part because Microsoft doesn’t think they work. Rather the time and expense of putting those events together became something that just wasn’t worth it. Spencer said that he would need to think about the tradeoffs before he went and schedules another XO Event.

Spencer went out of his way to make sure that he said some nice things about what Sony has put together saying, “yea, PSX seems well done and fans like the event. The idea is smart.” With all that in mind, it seems likely we will be seeing some new XO events in the future.
