The Elder Scrolls 6 or Skyrim 2: Should It Release 5 Months After Reveal?

It worked for Fallout 4.

While Bethesda hasn’t officially announced a Skyrim 2 or an Elder Scrolls 6, there might be a really good reason for lack of news. Now that Fallout 4 is almost done and out (only DLC releases remaining), Bethesda has a need to bring another AAA game. Could their behavior last year be a clue as to how they will be behaving this year? It should be pointed out that the company denied that Fallout 4 was a reality right up until a few weeks before the game was actually slated to be announced.

The game ended up getting officially announced at E3 last year and was released in November. Could the company be planning on doing the same thing with Elder Scrolls 6 or Skyrim 2? Bethesda has said Fallout 4 was different from the way they normally handle these kinds of games but if this was the new norm the firm likely won’t let us know about that straight out. The company has said it doesn’t plan on developing small things, which seems to indicate that big titles are next on its slate.

There’s something to be said for having a small window between announcement and release date. The small period of time allows fans to get excited about the upcoming game without having to wait so long they move on and focus on another game. It would in fact, behoove the firm to look at smaller windows in order to generate interest and not have to answer a ton of different questions about the game.
