Street Fighter 5 Isn’t Punishing Rage Quitters

But Capcom says it will address the issues shortly.

Street Fighter 5

Street Fighter 5 is, like most other fighting games, apparently having some problems with people quitting the game in the middle of a fight, because they are losing. This particular practice is known as rage quitting. The practice is one that might happen in fighting games, especially quite a bit but that doesn’t make it any less annoying for the people who don’t get to finish a fight thanks to their opponents fleeing.

The problem of course, is that the rage quitters don’t register a loss on their records and the people who were winning, don’t get a victory. Most games in this day and age are actually going to punish people who decide right in the middle of a match to just pull out and disappear. At least for now, that isn’t the case when dealing with Street Fighter 5. At the moment, there is no punishment at all for people who rage quit, though Eurogamer is reporting that Capcom has acknowledged there is a problem and is looking to figure out a way to address the issue in short order.

“I can confirm that it is something we are going to be addressing to make the gameplay experience one that all fans can enjoy and be rewarded fairly for,” a spokesperson for Capcom told the site. This is hardly the first issue that has been spotted in the game since it launched on February 16. The company has just released a post launch update, but there are still a number of areas where the game falls short. Hopefully, for all involved, the issues all get worked out at some point soon.
