While there have been some people who are a bit worried about the direction Microsoft is taking with its plans for the Xbox One and the PC thanks to their focus on Windows 10, Phil Spencer wanted everyone to know he thinks the future is still very bright for the company when it comes to gaming. The main reason he feels so optimistic is because he still honestly believes both Windows 10 and the Xbox One are the platforms that are best suited for developers to have the freedom to make any game they want and get them in front of as many gamers as possible.

This is hardly the first time Spencer has talked about the positives of his company’s desires to have all Xbox One games playable on Windows 10 and vice versa. Speaking at the Build 2016 conference, Spencer believes the combined Microsoft platform is and will continue to be “an open development system where anyone can build, deploy, sell and service their games and applications.” While Microsoft has already talked a bit about its plans for the Universal Windows Platform (UWP), Spencer talked a bit more about several features the company is rolling out soon.

Furthermore, he believes Microsoft is committed to developing games that have good performance with faster install and uninstall times along with improved safety through runtime environments.
