We know that PlayStation VR has apparently been doing very well for itself with pre-orders- which makes sense, since it is the cheapest VR solution on the market, and also paired to the highest selling home console of the generation. However, we haven’t had many official statements from Sony about the performance of the upcoming VR headset.
In an interview with Triangulation, Richard Marks of Sony Interactive Entertainment spoke about the sales of the PSVR ahead of its launch, stating that it had sold “great, very fast,” but refusing to give any specific numbers even when pressed. He also added that he was hoping that PlayStation VR would be the widely accepted VR platform of choice.
PlayStation VR is going to be released this October for the PlayStation 4. It will cost $399 in the US, though a bundle with the PlayStation Camera and PlayStation Move will also be available. That bundle will retail for $499.
