Uncharted 4 Had A Cool ‘The Onion’ Secret Which Was Patched Out In The Most Hilarious Manner Ever

"Effects Artist Jailed For Using Copyrighted Material."

Uncharted4-11

A couple of weeks ago Youtube user BrokenOpus found a cool secret during the initial fight sequence in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. During this fight sequence, Nathan Drake is fighting with a fellow prison inmate and while they are exchanging blows, a paper can be observed flying across. Once the photo mode is initiated and the camera is zoomed in one can clearly see a newspaper clipping titled ‘Worlds Largest Metaphor Hits Iceberg’ which is a reference to The Onion’s newspaper article which can be checked out here.

However in a recent patch, Naughty Dog have replaced it with a headline stating “Effects Artist Jailed For Using Copyrighted Material” (possibly due to a copyright claim?). To be honest, I found this to be quite funny and shocking. Funny because the artist is now shown to be behind bars for using “copyrighted” material and shocking because there is no way anyone could have found this secret. I mean who cares what is written on a flying newspaper clipping let alone observe it in the first place?

So kudos to  BrokenOpus for finding this. You can check out both videos showcasing The Onion article and how it looks after it was patched.
