"You may encounter players across a wider range of skill."

Destiny The Taken King_Crucible 05

Annoyed with Destiny‘s skill-based matchmaking in PvP that seems to scour the globe for opponents without any regard for connection quality? Well, it seems Bungie will be testing out some new matchmaking settings in the afternoon on July 6th (so right about now) in Control.

Senior Designer Derek Carroll noted that, “When the new settings are applied, players at the extreme ends of the skill curve (you probably know who you are) should see shorter Matchmaking times. Connection quality is still the primary search criteria.

“The changes we’re implementing will make playlists more responsive to the overall composition of the player population. As Matchmaking times shorten, you may encounter players across a wider range of skill.”

This sounds like players should see better connections but again, we’ll have to see how it works before really getting excited. After all, this isn’t the first time Destiny has tried to change matchmaking settings to appease fans. Stay tuned for more information on the same and let us know what you think of the new settings in the comments.
