Eidos Montreal has released a new patch for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided to help deal with “critical issues users ran into immediately following release.”
The patch essentially fixes crashes caused after watching the intro video, following the beginning scene in Prague and those resulting from third party programs running alongside the game. It also correctly displays the mouse invert setting in the options menu.
As for performance issues, Eidos Montreal noted that, “We are seeing people reporting performance issues when playing the game on Very High/Ultra settings with MSAA set to 2x, 4x, or 8x. We would like to emphasize again that these options are very demanding. We recommend everyone that is running at recommended spec or higher to start with the High Preset and MSAA turned off, and then tweak the options to optimize your experience.”
This comes after complaints by players with excessively powerful hardware about performance issues. Eidos Montreal did note that the patch would “be an improvement for everyone” but in case of new issues, players can go back to playing the previous version via the Beta menu in Steam.
