The Creative Assembly has been busy with Total War: Warhammer and Halo Wars 2 but it has quite a bit planned for the future. According to brand director Rob Bartholomew in a round table interview (as per PCGamesN), the next Total War title will be in “an era we haven’t tackled yet.” You can also “new and exciting” features on top of that.
It will still be a while before the game is revealed and certainly won’t be out for another “couple of years”. However, you fans can expect it to be “both huge [and] historic.”
In the meantime, there will be more Total War: Warhammer content with plans for two more games. The upcoming sequel will be equivalent in size to the current one and may even four races from launch itself. While each game will be stand-alone, they will make for a “single, all-encompassing grand campaign” as per Eurogamer.
Game director Ian Roxburgh noted that, “Now the technical way of doing that is a bit fiddly. But ultimately it’s been something we’ve been determined to do right from the start. We don’t want to break it up. We want that massive map, right at the end, and we want everything in it. It’s going to be something that people lose their shit over.”
