Civilization 6 has received a pretty big new patch which adds new maps and support for DirectX 12. It’s a lot.

First you get two new maps – “Four-Leaf Clover” and “Six-Armed Snowflake” – which can be played both online and offline. There’s an emphasis on moving towards and battling at the centre with these maps. Meanwhile, there’s “Cavalry and Cannonades”, a new multiplayer scenario that has no strategic resource requirements along with reduced maintenance costs for units as you try to possess as much territory as possible in 50 turns.

Other changes include renaming cities, a visual cues in the UI to tell you when Barbarians noticed your city and changes to “Dan Quayle rankings.” You heard it here first. Then there are the bug fixes including one that prevents Wonders from sending too many notifications.

You can check out all the major changes here and in the meantime, let us know how you’re liking Civilization 6 in the comments below.
