Cyanide’s Call of Cthulhu video game is back at last with a new trailer and delves into the psychological horror players can expect when dealing with Lovecraftian lore. Check out the new trailer below which sees protagonist Detective Edward Pierce investigating the death of an artist on Darkwater Island, Boston.

As an RPG/investigation title, Call of Cthulhu: The Official Video Game will also feature stealth mechanics. Many of the horror elements are as you’d expect – bodies that go missing, whales with strange lacerations, a reality that’s quickly becoming unmade and so on. There’s something about the “Great Dreamer” as well. Gee, who could that possibly be?

Call of Cthulhu: The Official Video Game is out later this year for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. A release date wasn’t provided but more information should emerge from the depths in the coming months. What are your thoughts on the new trailer? Let us know in the comments.
