Sounds like this is the marketing angle Microsoft will pursue with the new console.

Microsoft really is pushing 4K gaming as the angle for the Scorpio- once again, Microsoft has taken the opportunity to associate the new upcoming console with higher resolution gaming. The system has now appeared on the Xbox Store, and its store description anoints it the most powerful home console ever made.

‘The first and only console to enable true 4K gaming and high fidelity virtual reality,’ is another point listed in the console’s favor on the web page. It seems that Microsoft is yet again pushing for what is likely to be a major marketing angle for the Scorpio this Holiday season- that it is the mot powerful console ever made, and the only system actually capable of true 4K resolutions (unlike the PS4 Pro, which uses a lot of tricks to achieve upscaled 4K for most games).

While having and marketing a powerful console will undoubtedly help, I just hope Microsoft will have some games to showcase its power too- because otherwise, the hardware is just an empty shell. Thankfully, it sounds like Microsoft is looking into having some good games to showcase all that the Scorpio can do upon its launch later this year.
