Stages 1 to 4 will be available in free demo.

Super Mario Run finally has a release date for Android. It will be arriving on the Google Play Store on March 23rd according to Nintendo.

The relatively well received running platformer will feature some new characters and stages 1 to 4 available in the free demo. Like the iOS version, you need to pay £9.99 to unlock the remaining stages.

Despite concerns over how much revenue it was actually bringing in, Super Mario Run did have a reported 90 million installs and $30 million in revenue. While not quite the numbers that Pokemon GO saw when it first launched, it has incentivized Nintendo to explore other mobile versions for its classic properties.

Fire Emblem Heroes, for instance, allows players to experience the classic battle system while summoning a variety of heroes from across the franchise. With $5 million revenue in just one week, Fire Emblem Heroes has proven that “experimenting with different types of monetization” as per company president Tatsumi Kimishima is working out fairly well.
