If you battle Gilgamesh in Final Fantasy 15: Episode Gladiolus and beat him, you get some of the coolest gear and abilities in the game- the Genji Blade and the Dual Master Glaive Art. Of course, defeating Gilgamesh is an entirely different matter- he’s a master swordsman, and one of the fiercest enemies you will square off against in the game.
To beat him, you need to consider some things. Remember, Gladiolus plays differently than Noctis- so you need to play around his strengths and weaknesses:
- Learn Gilgamesh’s attack patterns, and learn to parry and dodge, hitting him back at the opportune moment
- Because Gladiolus has huge wind up animations for his attacks, don’t go all in for a berserker style attack- that will end you
- Use healing items liberally
- Let your rage build
- Don’t be afraid to use your Glaive Arts
Once you beat him, you are rewarded with the Genji Blade and the Dual Master Glaive Art- congratulations!
