Destiny 2 Won’t Have Grimoire Cards, “Want Lore In The Game”

Scannables, characters and Adventures will convey the lore.

Annoyed by Destiny’s Grimoire cards, especially when you needed a separate device to read them? You won’t have to worry about that in Destiny 2 because they won’t be coming back.

Speaking to Forbes, Bungie world lead Steve Cotton said that, “The answer to that question is ‘no’ and the reason it’s ‘no’ is because we want to put the lore in the game.

“We want people to be able to find the lore. All the story is told through the Adventures, it’s told through the characters in the world, it’s told through the campaign and it’s told through scannables you find throughout the world.”

Given how this is something fans have been asking for ages, it’s good that Bungie is actually making an effort to incorporate the lore in-game. After all, many consider the lore in the Grimoire to represent Destiny’s best story-telling.

Will that translate to better story-telling in Destiny 2? We’ll find out when the game releases on September 8th for Xbox One and PS4. The PC version is out later.
