Tekken 7’s PC Version Appears To Be Incredibly Successful, According To Early Indications

Tekken is back.

Tekken 7 is now out and available on PS4, Xbox One, and for the first time ever for the series, on PC as well. The PC port is, additionally, by all accounts a great one as well. It seems that PC players are enjoying having a feature complete, good version of a major fighting game on the platform, because all early indications are that Tekken 7 is an early success on PC already.

As NeoGAF has noticed, reviews for the game on Steam appear to be ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ (a mark few games reach), while its concurrent player count, at 18,000 players, is already well ahead of other popular fighting games that appeared on PC, including Street Fighter V and Mortal Kombat X. Indeed, the only fighting game that had a higher concurrent player count than Tekken 7 ever was For Honor– and that’s not strictly speaking a fighting game to begin with.

So yes, it looks like PC players are enjoying having a great version of a great, feature complete fighting game, available to them to play on day one. Hopefully this makes other developers of fighting games take PC more seriously.
