New Alan Wake won’t be a direct sequel or DLC

Posted By | On 10th, May. 2011

Following a CV entry that recently confirmed the existence of an Alan Wake sequel Oskari Hakkinen, head of franchise development at Remedy, has confirmed there is more Alan Wake coming soon, but mysteriously he said it won’t be a sequel or downloadable content for the first game.

“Fans of the franchise will be excited to learn that yes, more Wake is coming. But to be absolutely certain to avoid confusion, this next Wake instalment will not be Alan Wake 2. And neither will it be DLC,” Hakkinen told Eurogamer.

He added that the product will “give more” to fans of the original as well as serve as a gateway for those new to the franchise. He went on to say that “”fall 2011 is probably a good guess” for when those fans can expect to experience more Alan Wake.

Interesting news for Wake fans, but it still leaves a lot of questions unanswered.

Thanks to Eurogamer for the info.
