Mass Effect Andromeda DLC Cancellation Denied by Bioware

Bioware producers call out "fake" company's announcement.

The disappointment with Mass Effect: Andromeda and publisher EA putting the franchise on hiatus may not be good news for fans. However, the recent rumour that upcoming story DLC for the game has been cancelled is most assuredly not going to add to their woes anytime soon. Because it’s not true.

The whole hubbub started earlier when a studio called Sinclair Networks said its deal to produce three DLC packs for Andromeda was cancelled due to poor reception. The message was on Facebook and had been deleted but screenshots of the same still existed. However, producer Fernando Melo on Twitter said that, “While we can’t talk about future yet, I can def say we build our own DLC/patches for our games and don’t hire fake companies to do so.”

With regards to the studio’s silence on the future of Andromeda, Melo stated that, “The internet is what it is. Doesn’t change the fact that there are things we can & cannot talk about at times, as part of a public company… however, new/future content etc is something we can’t discuss yet. Sorry.”

Producer Mike Gamble simply said on Twitter, “Never heard of Sinclair Networks. Ever.” So there you go.

While this isn’t official confirmation of the DLC’s nature, it certainly means that Bioware isn’t done with Mass Effect: Andromeda. What are your thoughts on the whole deal? Let us know in the comments.
