It sounds like this will be a dynamic, emergent, reactive game world.

Assassin’s Creed Origins looks to be a refreshing take on a series that had begun to feel severely tired and fatigued. There are going to be a number of changes to the series’ established gameplay norms and formula with this upcoming game- and taking to Twitter recently, game director Ashraf Ismail revealed some interesting new details about those.

He confirmed, for instance, that the eagle you can use for recon, can go as far away from your character as you want- theoretically you can get an aerial overview of the entire world without ever moving from your spot then, I imagine. He also confirmed that the arrows in the game are governed by real physics, rather than having predetermined paths- so their behavior will be more like arrows in Breath of the Wild than in Horizon.

Finally, he confirmed that horse archers found in the world have dynamic and reactive AI and how they behave will change based on what you have done in the world- which sounds like the world is reactive and systemic. Me likey. Assassin’s Creed Origins is due out on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 27.
