Dragon Quest 11 Confirmed For Western Release in 2018

The upcoming RPG will be localized in five different languages.

Square Enix’s Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age finally has a Western release window. North America, Europe and other regions outside of Japan can pick up the game in 2018. Japanese players can pick up the game on 3DS and PlayStation 4 on July 29th.

Series creator Yuji Horii announced the same in a new video for fans with more information on the localization process. Dragon Quest 11 will be playable in five different languages when it arrives next year. Though the game’s release platforms for the West haven’t been confirmed, it was announced in 2015 to be arriving for 3DS, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

Interestingly, the 3DS version of Dragon Quest 11 has 3D graphics on its top screen along with 16-bit sprites on the bottom screen, which is different from the PS4 version looks. Players can choose between the two visual styles throughout the game though both will be displayed across both screens only in the beginning stages.
