In a call-back to Assassin’s Creed 2, Assassin’s Creed Origins will feature tombs to raid. Being set in ancient Egypt, having a few crypts to plunder wouldn’t be the weirdest thing. Creative director Ashraf Ismail offered more details to Official PlayStation Magazine (via GamesRadar) and confirmed that there would be “quite a few tombs” in the game.
Ismail also noted that there would be different kinds of puzzles for each. Some will have more traditional puzzles while others would focus on navigation puzzles and challenges. You can also expect many of them to be based on real tombs since the development team put a “lot of effort into recreating” them.
“Everything that is actually known we’ve mapped it out, we have images, we have research that’s been done on tombs, we actually try to replicate it as close as possible,” said Ismail. “So for example, the Greek pyramid, all the chambers, all the corridors are an authentic representation. Now, of course, we have a bit of fun and go a bit further, like, what are the secret chambers that have not been discovered yet?”
Assassin’s Creed Origins will be out on October 27th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC with PS4 Pro and Xbox One X support. It’s confirmed to have the largest world in the series by far and features several changes to the combat, navigation and so on.
