Activision Blizzard’s recent earnings report for Q2 of the 2017 fiscal year ending on June 30th revealed some very interesting facts about company’s properties. Blizzard is more noteworthy as it reported a 38 percent increase in monthly active users over the same period last year with 46 million users.

Overwatch and Hearthstone are to thank for the same, especially the former which set a new record for monthly active users despite being over a year old. The Uprising PvE event in the hero shooter saw “record play time” as per Blizzard. As for Hearthstone, the Journey to Un’Goro expansion helped set a new record for monthly active users. Despite World of Warcraft subscriber numbers not being revealed, “time spent” in the game was up and the expansion Legion was “performing ahead of the prior expansion”.

In comparison, Activision’s monthly active users were at 47 million, which is a slight decline over last year. Net revenue for Activison-Blizzard for the quarter was $1.63 billion, up from $1.57 billion last year, with $1.31 billion coming from digital revenue. Digital revenue as a whole up by 15 percent year-over-year.
