Bungie’s Destiny 2 will be hosting its open beta on PC come August 29th. Along with providing a higher level of visuals thanks to the PC platform, it will also feature changes to Power Ammo drops, Super energy gain and so on.

However, in its recent weekly update, Bungie took the time to clarify a prior announcement regarding third party app compatibility. After many believed that apps like Discord, OBS and so on simply wouldn’t work, Bungie noted, “While third party applications will not fully lose functionality during Destiny 2 PC gameplay, features that attempted to insert code into the game will not be compatible.”

To that end, while you can still stream Destiny 2 using the modes in OBS, XSplit and even activate Discord and Mumble, the overlay of their UI will not be usable. Bungie also noted that while hardware performance monitors can function alongside the game while it’s running, their overlay functionality is also restricted.

If you’re curious about stuff like frames per second during gameplay, Destiny 2 on PC will have an in-game FPS counter. You can even specify the upper-limit of the frame rate via config file.

Though it’s beta is out by August end, Destiny 2 arrives on October 24th for PC. The Xbox One and PS4 versions are out on September 6th.
