Xbox Executive Acknowledges Xbox One X Pre-orders Frustration

"I know there's frustration about pre-orders, and I apologize."

The Xbox One X was announced all the way last year, and then properly confirmed with its release details at E3 this year- however, with just months left to its release in November, we have so far been unable to place pre-orders for it, with apparently, FCC certifications being the big hold-up in that regard.

Speaking on YouTube, Xbox’s Mike Ybarra acknowledged the frustration players are having with the inability to place pre-orders, reiterating Phil Spencer’s previously stated stance of pre-orders being available ‘soon’.

“It’s great to see the excitement from people. I know there’s frustration about pre-orders, [and I] apologize for that. As Phil [Spencer] said on Twitter, he said soon and really that’s all I can say about that,” Ybarra said in a new video.

In this case, the matter is entirely out of Microsoft’s hands- Microsoft wanted pre-orders for the system to be available as early as E3, but the hold-up is no longer on their end. Hopefully, this is something the FCC resolves soon- it would be a matter of mild panic, for instance, if we headed into October, and there was still no clearance from them- you can’t sell electronics in US and Canada unless the FCC has cleared them, after all.
