Kingdom Hearts 3 And Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Will Square Enix Drop New Info At Gamescom 2017?

Will Square Enix release more details for their upcoming megaton releases?

Gamescom 2017 is just a a few days away now, and speculation about new announcements and new details on upcoming games has been ramping up. Square Enix itself has some pretty big games in its lineup of upcoming releases, and none are bigger than Final Fantasy VII Remake and Kingdom Hearts III. However, the question is, will we be seeing more updates or information or footage or anything of the sort from these two games at Gamescom in one week’s time?

I think we probably will, at least for one, if not both of them. It seems like a pretty safe bet. Square Enix have already confirmed that Kingdom Hearts III’s development is going well and that it’s going to be out in 2018 for sure, so we know that it’s at least in the middle of or close to its final stages of development. With this in mind, and the fact that Kingdom Hearts III is a major releases in both Japan and in the west, it seems like Square Enix are going to amp up anticipation and hype surrounding the game by giving players another glimpse at it soon. Gamescom seems like the time to do it.

I’m less sure about Final Fantasy VII Remake, but I still wouldn’t completely discard the idea. Final Fantasy VII Remake is still a ways off from release. We don’t even have a concrete release date yet, but we can safely assume that the game’s going to launch in 2019. Square Enix wouldn’t have any kind of requirement or obligation to show more of the game if that’s how far it is from its actual release. But then again, Square Enix have never been ones to pay any mind to how far away their games are from release, as is evidenced by the fact that Final Fantasy VII Remake was officially announced two years ago, so you never know.
