Final Fantasy 15 Director Wants To Develop A Game Focused On Lunafreya

This is something I can agree with entirely.

One of the best and most tragic characters in Final Fantasy 15 was its lead heroine, Lunafreya- her story is something that we never got to see more of, even though she has one of the most important parts to play in the events that transpire in the game.

Speaking with Polygon during Gamescom 2017, Hajime Tabata, the director of Final Fantasy 15, agreed that Lunafreya needs more time in the spotlight- and revealed his desire to make a new bit of DLC focused on her and her story.

“I really do have that desire to depict Luna as an even stronger female personality. Obviously the first mission is to get ‘Episode Ignis’ out. Then when we decided what we do with 15 after, is to decide that together with the fans and community and opinions, just like you gave,” he said.

“First priority you want to see in future DLC is Luna? That’s something that I can agree with very well. I’ve also got incredible motivation to do that.”

Luna’s story hints at being great in the game- so getting to see more of it would definitely be hugely appreciated, especially given how strong of a character she comes off as in the limited time on the screen that she does get. I hope Square Enix decides to go ahead with this one. Final Fantasy 15 is currently out on PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC version coming early next year.
