Destiny 2’s First Raid Will Require A Light Level Between 260 and 280

That's... surprisingly low, actually.

Destiny 2‘s first Raid goes live later this week, bringing the much vaunted style of post game content that gave the original game such staying power to the much improved sequel- and ahead of that launch, Bungie have finally revealed the Light Level that will be needed for you to be able to play a Raid. It’s a rather low range of 260-280.

Light Level is defined as the composite average of the attack and defense stats of your equipped gear, and it is used as the primary gate for post game content. 260 is, as Destiny players doubtless know, the ‘soft’ Light Level cap (although it can go all the way up to 300). That said, given that players are already approaching 300 even without the Raid, the requirements are surprisingly lax- especially since it was expected the Raid would give the drops that would make it possible to reach higher Light levels to begin with.

Destiny 2 is available now on PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC launch coming next month.
