Microsoft recently hosted a livestream event and though we’ve known that Halo 5: Guardians would be receiving an Xbox One X patch, it seems that other Halo titles will be joining the party. Halo Wars 2 and Halo: The Master Chief Collection will also receive patches for the Xbox One X as per 343 Industries and it’s looking to add updates for bug fixes as well.
343 Industries noted that it wanted to “bring [Halo: MCC] forward and modernize many of the game’s systems to take advantage of Xbox platform advancements since its original launch.” So if you were one of the few players who tried sticking with the game since launch, you’re in luck. In fact, the developer will launch a “flighting” program of sorts for the game to try new patches. This program will begin in Spring 2018 with more information to follow.
Halo Wars 2 will also receive support for the Xbox Arena system that allows players to create and manage tournaments. Furthermore, cross-play support would be coming for Xbox One and PC players of Halo Wars 2. Both features are expected to launch in late October.
