Divinity Original Sin 2

Destiny 2 had the largest digital launch ever on consoles and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has beat the likes of World of Warcraft and Crossfire according to the latest report from SuperData. However, the firm also noted that Larian Studios’ Divinity: Original Sin 2, the critically acclaimed sequel to the 2014 classic, had a pretty good launch month.

The computer RPG managed to sell 660,000 digital units in the first month which is all the more interesting since it lines up with the likes of Nier: Automata and Horizon: Zero Dawn. Also, Divinity: Original Sin 2 had launched on September 14th, that too for only one platform (PC) so it’s even more impressive to see these numbers.

Current sales for the game on Steam, at least according to Steam Spy, put the current number of owners at over 800,000. At this rate, Divinity: Original Sin 2 will hit 1 million units sold at a much faster rate than the original which sold 500,000 units within the first three months of release.
