Overwatch Competitive Season 7 is Live, No Changes Made

The newest season is underway with no changes of any kind to systems, heroes and whatnot.

While Blizzard Entertainment just recently updated its Public Test Realm server with a new patch to balance Mercy, it’s still a shame that Overwatch’s seventh season of Competitive Play has begun with no changes. No minor, no major. Just nothing.

Regardless, Competitive players can get back into the grind, earning Competitive Points to pick up Golden Weapons down the line. This isn’t including the special emblem and spray one gets for completing their placement matches (with top 500 players receive special versions of the same). Due to changes made at the start of season 6, season 7 will only last for two months.

Players will earn less Competitive Points when they finish the season but it’s offset by the overall length of each season. Other changes included Control maps now requiring only 2 out of 3 rounds won as opposed to 3 out of 5. Blizzard is currently busy with the Overwatch League and Blizzcon so the lack of changes is somewhat understandable. We’ll just have to wait for more updates in the coming weeks.
