Destiny 2’s Prometheus Lens Will Be Nerfed Into Oblivion Till January

Due to a short window for fixing the broken weapon, Bungie will nerf it heavily till next month.

Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris_04

Bungie has had quite the range of controversies with Destiny 2. There’s the lack of a proper end-game, terrible reward structures permeating timed events and raids alike, numerous items gated behind Eververse, consumable shaders, XP throttling and the lackluster Curse of Osiris DLC. What’s worse is that the Crucible hasn’t been all that amazing either with the new trace rifle Prometheus Lens wrecking havoc.

The short-term solution was to see Xur sell the weapon and allow players to access it all weekend. However, in an update on December 12th, Prometheus Lens will be made “too weak” to use until Bungie can conduct a proper balance pass in January. This is due to the extremely small window of time it had to adjust the overpowered weapon.

You could argue that this isn’t the worst solution especially in the short term but it’s hilarious how Bungie’s most immediate solution to “fixing” the bugged weapon is to make it useless. Crucible Laser Tag was fun for a while we suppose but it’s time to return to the awful team-shot meta of yore.
