Monster Hunter World Has DLC Plans, But Not A Service Model

Monster Hunter World stands strong on its own without trying to milk as much cash as possible, it seems.

It’s a small Monster Hunter World after all. The new console entry in the series is set to be released later this month with a third beta on the way for players to enjoy. However, if you were thinking that this would be some kind of Destiny style years long commitment for Capcom, that seems to not really be their style.

Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto in an interview with Metro, actually had to have the term explained to him by the translator, who suggested that the practice of using a game as a client for years to come isn’t really a Japanese thing at this time.

Tsujimoto would state unequivocally that there are meaty post game content plans for the game, but nothing extending anywhere near the 5 or 10 year range. He would talk up the DLC plans such as free monsters and new quests for players to enjoy regularly, but did not leave any room to think these expansions would be the same kind of thing we see with titles like Destiny 2. Would you like to see such lengthy support or are you cheering that Monster Hunter isn’t going to go down this road. Let us know in the comments.
