Mario Tennis Aces

It’s been a while since Mario Tennis had a chance to shine on a Nintendo platform (we don’t talk about Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash). Thankfully, there’s a new Mario Tennis game coming to the Nintendo Switch this Spring – Mario Tennis Aces.

This isn’t just your favourite characters taking part in tennis wars though. New gameplay additions have been added like being able to predict the position and stroke of your opponent, thus helping you decide which shot will be the best response.

Also, if you enjoyed the story mode of Mario Tennis: Power Tour on the Game Boy Advance, then Mario Tennis Aces will see a similar campaign. There will be missions to complete, bosses to fight and hopefully a couple of training montages to soothe my retro heart. Even better is the fact that Camelot is in charge of development.

Nintendo’s latest Direct – or mini-Direct – presentation offered quite a lot of updates on upcoming titles like Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze and Dark Souls Remastered. Stay tuned for more updates on the same.
