Spyro The Dragon

With the success of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, it seems Activision has another series of remastered classics on the way. According to Kotaku UK’s Laura Kate Dale who spoke to numerous sources, Spyro the Dragon Trilogy Remaster is currently in development. It will be announced in March 2018 for PS4 (with support for PS4 Pro) and launches in Q3 2018.

The target month is September for launch since it coincides with Spyro the Dragon’s 20th Anniversary. Much like Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, the Spyro trilogy remaster will include new assets, animations, cinematics, a remastered OST and lighting. Quality of life features like an improved save function will also be included. For those wondering, the trilogy will feature PlayStation One classics Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage! and Spyro: Year of the Dragon.

Take this report with a grain of salt but remember that Activision has discussed making similar titles to Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy after the latter proved to be a mistake success. A remastered Spyro trilogy wouldn’t surprise us in the very least. Stay tuned for more information as March nears.
