PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is taking a page out of Fortnite: Battle Royale’s book and finally implementing an Event Mode. As the name indicates, it will feature new custom game modes at a periodical pace. You can head over to the game’s test servers on PC now and navigate to the “Event” tab in matchmaking.

The mode itself features eight player per squad with the drop rates on rifles being doubled. It’s third person perspective only on Erangel and partying up with seven other friends isn’t possible. Matchmaking with strangers is the only real option.

Though this mode sounds fairly tame, PUBG Corp has noted that there will be more interesting concepts in the future. You may even see new content that’s not in the main game, like the Flare Gun which is coming in the next mode. Despite being unranked, Event Mode will confer BP for your cosmetic needs. As for when it will hit live servers, stay tuned for more information.
