Death Stranding: Mads Mikkelsen Talks About His Character

"It is a different exercise compared to cinema."

Death Stranding has a pretty star-studded cast, with the likes of Norman Reedus and Guillermo del Toro playing major roles in the game, while Mads Mikkelsen himself is also involved, presumably as the main antagonist. In an interview with French site Premiere, Mikkelsen was recently asked about his work on the game, and he talked about how working on the game was quite different from working in cinema.

Mikkelsen mentioned that his background in dance greatly helped out during his work on the game- obviously we don’t expect his character to be a dancer, but perhaps Kojima made use of his natural fluidity and elegance and worked it into the character itself. “No, especially for the video game I worked on with Hideo Kojima,” he said when asked if his approach to working on a game is the same as working for a film. “My past as a dancer has been beneficial to get into this character. I did ten years of ballet before being an actor and this experience allowed me to find the appropriate movements. It is a different exercise compared to cinema even if in the end we injects emotions to give life.”

Death Stranding is going to be one of the four games Sony will be focussing on at their E3 press conference this year, so we expect to hear a lot more about the game in the coming days. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for continued coverage.
