Ubisoft really can’t catch a break when it comes to some leaks. Before Assassin’s Creed Odyssey products revealed the next title, rumours were already pegging the game as taking place in ancient Greece. Since then, Ubisoft has confirmed the game’s existence and also promised a reveal at its E3 2018 presser on June 11th.
Of course, that didn’t stop the game’s official logo and story summary from being leaked. Thanks to the notification of “new events” being available on the PlayStation Store for Assassin’s Creed Origins (courtesy of Reddit and Resetera), we now know what to expect on this new adventure.
Surprisingly, it sounds pretty much as you’d expect. The summary notes, “Take control of your destiny and write your own epic odyssey as you journey to become a legendary Spartan hero. Live incredible adventures in a world where every choice matters. Rejected by your family, you must embark on an adventure from outcast mercenary to legendary Spartan hero to uncover the truth about your past.”
The game sounds intriguing though whether we’ll be blocking an impasse with 299 other soldiers against an invading empire hasn’t been confirmed yet. Gameplay and screenshots have yet to be leaked thus far so stay tuned to Ubisoft’s E3 2018 presser at 1 PM PT for more information. Other games slated to appear include Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, Skull and Bones, and the rumoured new Splinter Cell.
