Microsoft To Announce $100 Price Drop For Xbox One X At E3?

Retailers have listed pricing for the Xbox One X that might be hinting at a pretty significant price drop.

Xbox One X

Let’s hope this is true- Microsoft might be gearing up to announce a pretty heavy price drop for the Xbox One X at their E3 press conference later today. Game retailers Fry’s Electronics and GameStop have special listings for the Xbox One X, which both seem to be hinting that the system upgrade might be receiving a $100 price drop imminently.

The Xbox One X launched in November of 2017 for a price of $499, but both the retailers mentioned above are selling the system at part of Microsoft’s temporary price drop of the system at $50 less than its MSRP. That should, obviously, amount to $449. Interestingly enough, though, the price of the system after the temporary price drop at both retailers is being shown as $349.

It’s entirely possible, then, that Microsoft might announce that the MSRP of the Xbox One X is being slashed by $100, which would, honestly, be incredible news. If that does happen, the $349 price being mentioned at Fry’s and GameStop would make perfect sense. The One X is an incredible piece of hardware, but the one thing that’s been holding it back is that it’s a little too costly (though its added capabilities for a home console do justify that price to some extent). If Microsoft do indeed start selling the system at $399, that would definitely drive up sales.

We’ll know for sure either way if there’s any truth to this speculation at Microsoft’s E3 press conference later today. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for continued updates.
