Blizzard Entertainment has been working fairly hard on Overwatch, its now-two year old multiplayer hero shooter. Between the Overwatch League wrapping up its fourth stage, reworks to heroes like Hanzo and Symmetra, and even an overhaul for Horizon Lunar Colony, there’s a lot going on. Amidst all this, however, a new hero could also be coming soon.
The official Overwatch Twitter posted a new teaser called “Posters” with the line, “Calm before the storm”. The posters in background showcase what appear to be the test subjects from Horizon Lunar Colony (the same experiment which created Winston). Teases in-game have seemingly pointed to Hammond, another survivor, still having a role to play.
Maybe he’s the next hero? With the graffiti proclaiming “No bots”, perhaps there’s a lore-related event coming up as well? Then again, this could just be connected to the Horizon rework that’s coming.
Overwatch‘s most recent hero was Brigitte, the support/tank hybrid. If the new hero arrives in July, this release would follow Blizzard’s schedule of three heroes per year. If not Hammond, who could the new hero be? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and stay tuned for more teases.
