Devil May Cry 5 is 75 Percent Complete, New Details Revealed

Who is Nico? What can we expect from the main villain?

Devil May Cry 5 (8)

Capcom remained extremely tight-lipped about the next mainline Devil May Cry title…until Devil May Cry 5 was announced at E3 2018. Since then, director Hideaki Itsuno has promised more information at Gamescom and that this would be his best game ever.

In the recent issue of Weekly Famitsu, however, a few more scant details were provided. For example, you can expect to hear more in Summer 2018 (which fits with the Gamescom timeline). However, Capcom also confirmed that the game was 75 percent complete. If it’s planning to release before March 2019 end, then it’s definitely on the right track.

Other bits of information include the new Big Bad and how it will be stronger than anything our heroes have fought till date. We already know that Nero is searching for someone after having his Devil Bringer arm ripped off and replaced with the Devil Breaker. Unfortunately, their identity is still unconfirmed (*cough*Vergil*cough*).

Another interesting detail is how Nico, the creator of the Devil Breaker, is the granddaughter of Neil Goldstein. The latter appeared in the Devil May Cry novel as the inventory of Dante’s dual handguns Ebony and Ivory. Dante himself appeared with the name “Tony Redgrave” in the novel, with Red Grave City being the setting for Devil May Cry 5. Coincidence…or could there be more connections than we think?

Regardless, Devil May Cry 5 will be out in Spring 2019 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
