Nintendo Switch

Bandai Namco, like most business savvy third parties after the failure of the Wii U, weren’t fully sold on Nintendo’s Switch, and its prospects on the market. But the system went on to become the fastest selling one in US history, and is now approaching 20 million units sold after a little more than a year on the market. And they, too, much like many other third parties, are coming around to supporting Nintendo’s hybrid console.

Speaking at their financial call after their earnings release for the lasts quarter, and translated by The Wall Street Journal’s Takashi Mochizuki, Bandai Namco said that they would like to make more games for the Switch. They admitted that making games for the Switch poses different challenges than making them for PS4 or Xbox One, but also that the Switch has been able to engage a wide audience with its “play anywhere” mentality, that they would like to leverage.

For now, Namco has Dark Souls Remastered, Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition, Dragon Ball FighterZ, and Digimon Survive coming to Nintendo’s system. Let’s see if they ramp up their support even further.
