Devil May Cry 5, the fifth mainline entry in Capcom’s action game franchise, and the first numbered one in over ten years by the time it launches in 2019, will be playable at Gamescom– and director Hideaki Itsuno has confirmed on Twitter that development on the Gamescom demo has been completed. This will be the very first playable build of Devil May Cry 5 so far- it’s great of Capcom to launch this at Gamescom, rather than withholding it for, say, Tokyo Game Sow.
Itsuno also shared the demo version’s title screen, which looks all kinds of cool, from Nero’s pose to the font used there. It’s a tantalizing tease- sadly, for more, we will have to wait till Gamescom. We can also hope that the demo gets released on Xbox Live/PSN/Steam for players to play- though demos of that nature are very rare these days, so as much as I want it to happen, I wouldn’t hold my breath for it.
Devil May Cry 5 launches for PS4, Xbox One, and PC next year.
