Battlefield 5 is launching in October, but at this point I have to wonder if EA and DICE might not be rushing it a bit. We’ve heard previously of modes like battle royale not being ready for launch, and now, there’s another feature that the game simply won’t have when it releases- vehicle customization.
In an update on the Battlefield website that spoke about the recently released “Devastation of Rotterdam” trailer (you can watch it here), DICE also noted that vehicle and aircraft customization won’t be available until after launch (at least visual customization). If so many features of the game are simply not ready to go by the time it launches in a couple of months, might it not be a better idea to hold off on releasing the game until they are done?
Especially since right now, by all accounts, the game’s pre-orders aren’t doing that hot, and threaten to be overshadowed by Red Dead Redemption 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, two bigger games it lands smack dab in the middle of?
That would be the right thing to do, but EA seldom does that anyway. Battlefield 5 launches for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 19.
