Fortnite’s Latest Update Brings Shockwave Grenade and Solid Gold Mode

Plus, some new changes to Save the World.

Fortnite Battle Royale (2)

After last week’s update, that added (among other things) a Score Royale mode, and recent random appearances of a cube across the game’s map, Fortnite has received yet another update. Update 5.30 adds another new limited time mode to the popular battle royale title, on top of some other things.

The aforementioned mode is Solid Gold, which is pretty much your regular battle royale game, but with the slight twist that only Legendary weapons are made available to players throughout the map. A variation of that, called Solid Gold 50 v 50, has also been added to the game. This is pretty much the same as Solid Gold itself, but applies only to the game’s 50 vs 50 mode (as the name applies).

A new weapon, called the Shockwave grenade, is also among the new stuff added on as part of the update. It functions pretty much the way you would expect any grenade to function – it knocks people back and destroys objects in its blast radius – and belongs to the Epic tier of rarity. On top of this, there’s also some updates made to Save the World.

You can check out the full patch notes below, as provided by Epic Games.
