Battlefield 5

Battlefield 5 is constantly receiving improvements and changes from DICE, some based on the feedback they’ve been receiving, and other stuff that they’ve implemented themselves. From how vehicles work in the game, to the mini map and medics, to weapon customization, we’ve learned plenty about the tweaks being brought about with Battlefield 5, and ahead of the upcoming open beta, DICE have given a comprehensive list of even more changes they’ll be making based on feedback.

It’s a pretty huge list, so while you can check out the finer details through the link above, I’ll be talking about some of the key points here. To start off, several new weapons are being added in. These include the semi-automatic rifle Turner SMLE, the SMG Suomi KP/-31, the automatic rifle FG-42, the sniper rifle Lee-Enfield No.4, the pistol Ruby, and many more.

Weapon recoil has also been reworked, which basically results in initial recoil being much slower on automatic and semi-automatic weapons. Weapon dispersion has also received some tweaks and seems to be a bit more forgiving in general- for instance, if you fire off too many single shots in quick succession, the crosshair spread won’t build up too much.

Some specific weapons have also received some changes. For instance, the initial and vertical recoil of the StG 44 has been tweaked, the maximum damage of the Kar98k has been reduced slightly, while the P38 Pistol’s rate of fire has been notched up a little bit.

There’s a lot more going on in the upcoming beta, which kicks off in just a couple days, so head on over to the DICE update through the link provided above if you want much more detailed descriptions of all the incoming changes. Battlefield 5 was recently delayed by a month, and will now be launching on November 20 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
