We were able to learn a lot of new details about Left Alive during Gamescom, and a story trailer for the game was just released recently. Now, in a new interview with WCCFTech, the game’s Director Toshifumi Nabeshima discussed how exactly multiple endings are implemented in the game, and what players can do to trigger these.

Although the director did not want to go into too much detail so as to avoid spoilers, he stated that doing good in the game will result in good consequences (radical, I know). It sounds fairly simple at this point, but it may be what is needed to add some depth to the people in the game’s world. Nabeshima-san stated, “Obviously, if I go into too much detail it will be full of spoilers and I don’t want to do that. But rest assured that if you try to do good things you will get a result that reflects the kind of actions you did in that part of the game.”

“So you do get to find out what happened to the individual people you saved as well,” he continued. “So like if you leave them behind at the end of the game you might get a message saying ‘unfortunately this guy didn’t make it’. If you managed to save them you’ll get a little piece about what they did after they escaped and what happened to them.

“People who are interested in these side stories can see it through to the end and discover what happened to them.”

The game will also allow players to follow up on the outcome of side stories to see how exactly these stories end. Overall, it seems like players will have some freedom regarding the game’s ending, and hopefully, we’ll get to know more about this soon. Left Alive is set to release for the PC and PS4 on February 28, 2019.
